‘Ulu & Kalo Bakery
Baking intentionally, to help you eat mindfully.
Rooted in Hawaiʻi
ʻUlu (breadfruit) and kalo (taro) are deeply rooted in the cultural and agricultural history of Hawaiʻi. Once staple foods that nourished entire communities, they are naturally rich in fiber, vitamins, and essential nutrients.
At ʻUlu & Kalo, we honor these traditions by bringing them back into modern kitchens, thoughtfully transforming them into baked goods that are both nourishing and delicious.
By choosing ʻulu and kalo, we support local farmers, strengthen community connections, and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Meet Maile
Hi, I’m Maile, the creator behind ʻUlu & Kalo.
My journey into food began through a personal shift toward healthier, whole ingredients and the way they transformed how I felt. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion.
When I discovered ʻulu and kalo, I was inspired not only by their nutritional value, but by their cultural significance and the stories behind them. Today, ʻUlu & Kalo is my way of sharing that experience, creating baked goods that reconnect people to these ingredients in a modern, approachable way.
